James Barjasic

Physiotherapist

James joined the team at Fairfield Physiotherapy and Sports injuries Centre in 2023. He graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Physiotherapy Practice in 2012. 

Since then, James has developed a strong passion for treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues and sports injuries across a diverse range of clientele, with particular interest in lower limb injuries and rehabilitation (strengthening and Pilates), spinal and shoulder pain.

James graduated from La Trobe University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Physiotherapy Practice. After graduating, James returned to his hometown of Geelong where he started his physiotherapy career at a longstanding and established clinic in the community, developing skills in assessing and treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries, gaining a strong grounding in Clinical Pilates and becoming Physiotherapist at his junior and senior football club, St. Joseph’s FC.

After 3 years in Geelong, James made the move to Melbourne and worked at several reputable clinics within the Melbourne area. During this time, he started to develop a strong passion for holistic assessment and treatment of his clientele through the use of manual therapy and detailed exercise prescription.

James has since worked with a number of professional athletes over the years, particularly from the Carlton Football Club. He has a particular interest in treating football and basketball related injuries, as well as helping golfers and runners manage injuries and increase their performance. He also enjoys treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues across a diverse range of clientele from different backgrounds, with particular interest in spinal pain, shoulder pain and lower limb injuries. He has developed vast experience and expertise in exercise programming and prescription for both injury management and high performance at all levels, including Clinical Pilates and dynamic strengthening. James is the Managing Director at Fairfield Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Centre.

In his time away from work, James enjoys keeping fit in the gym and on the running track, riding the emotional rollercoaster of being an avid golfer, the delicious food and wine that Melbourne has to offer, and loves a pint at the pub watching his beloved Tigers with friends and family.
